MCE Expands Product Line & Accelerates Production in New Facility

MCE’s PACK EXPO 2023 Las Vegas presence was bigger and better than ever, due in part to the company’s move to a new facility. The larger facility allows MCE to offer a broader line of conveyors and conveyor equipment.

“Most of our conversations at PACK EXPO Las Vegas centered on solving accumulation and elevation-change challenges,” says Joe Roesler, Executive Vice President. “We’ve increased our capacity to offer quality reflows, grippers, and spirals, and with the new space, we’re able to meet the growing demand for our conveyors with very short lead times.” 

MCE’s move to a new facility is about much more than extra space. “We used this move as an opportunity to examine our processes and workflows closely to see where we could streamline and improve,” says Roesler. “For instance, we wanted to start planning the crating process for each piece of equipment during assembly rather than waiting for assembly to be complete. That change has enabled us to get our products to customers about 33% faster. Our three- to five-week standard shipping times are some of the fastest in the industry.”

The move has created advantages in terms of space, too. “With the additional space we’ve expanded beyond conveyors to stand-alone conveyor equipment and more complete conveyor solutions,” says Roesler. “We know our distributors want to be able to offer new options to their customers, and MCE has become that one-stop shop for comprehensive and seamless solutions.”

In addition to assembling MCE’s pre-engineered conveyors, the team now assembles accumulation solutions, spirals, and other equipment that changes production line elevation. Every pre-engineered conveyor and piece of equipment that goes out the door maintains MCE’s high standards for quality and proven performance.

Another improvement MCE has implemented is training every MCE employee in all areas, including assembly, electrical, crating, shipping, and service trips. This allows each team member to understand the process from start to finish. They can factor in that knowledge at every step, which streamlines the process and ensures smoother transitions between each step.
